Yep. And like I mentioned before, physical limitations make it so I can't take some of the jobs I might otherwise have done, so even if the jobs were out there, I couldn't get them. >_<
I get the feeling if I lived in a larger city there might be more options, but I live in the middle of Nowheresville, practically.

can't do the heavy manual labor? _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Can't do any job that involves standing on my feet. Doesn't matter if it's heavy manual labor or retail or what. Which sucks, because many jobs that I might otherwise be able to do, involve standing up.
I once worked for like, two days at a job where all I did was make bows, which was fun; they were pre-made and I pulled a string/tab and it folded up into a bow, which I then tied off and snipped the excess thread, and put it in a hopper. It was assembly-line type work, and I actually enjoyed it, it was pretty fun.
But they wouldn't let me sit down, I had to be standing up, and I just couldn't take the pain; I was in tears and hobbling, barely able to walk by the end of the day. So I had to leave that job.

I was a stock boy for 2 weeks. I was paid less than minimum wage, given no support belt (for heavy lifting, forget the actual name), 15 minutes break time only, and non-stop lifting, moving, shelving, etc., during the Summer heat. My shoulder gave out. They had me sign a paper stating I was not injured there. It sucked. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Ya don't sign those papers unless they're true. Dumb kids, we all do stupid shit.
And lifting belts are bad mmmkay? All they do is prevent you from building muscle in the areas they're "supporting" so you get ripped everywhere else, then if you ever lift without it, you're fucked. _________________

I, like Treb, work in Loss Prevention (though because of lawsuits I'm not allowed to kick thieves in the nuts). I work for Borders: Books, Movies and Music. As far as retail goes it doesn't suck as much as other places,
Up until about a month ago I worked for Starbucks. That was three kinds of suck.
Technically I also work as an usher at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice Theater, but I haven't worked a show in a while. _________________ Mercy is the mark of a great man.
