I know Heartbreak tried this already, but here we go again:

All the talk about old school wrasslin' got me all mad about some of the new stuff. I'm of the opinion that the new school of wrasslin' is so obsessed with flash and show that they have totally dropped the Purity and awesomeness of Pro Wrestling. With that, we've replaced the awesome rivalries that took months to garner, build, and then finally resolved into weekly sound-bytes.

So, what say you, faithfull Squishy forumners. What opinions or comments do you have brewing in your head about the state of Pro Wrasslin'?

Most people have started getting their excitement and competition (as well as bloody violence) fixes from the UFC and other Mixed Martial Arts promotions. Story lines in wrestling and the actual technical ability/risks in mainstream "sports entertainment" have gone down hill and MMA has stepped up and replaced it. Sure there aren't the elaborate plots that things like the WW*shudders*E, and TNA have, but what you do get is solid cards full of plenty of athleticism and surprises as its anybodies game in regards to who wins or loses, unlike Boxing where you'll get several "Undercard" matches full of unknowns that no one actually cares about (and usually don't enjoy watching) followed by one quick title fight and thats it.

Also, during pre and during UFC fights its all "I'll break/kill you", "Prepare to get your head popped off", "EAT MY ASS!!", etc.....and as soon as the final bell rings everyones hugging and laughing and congratulating each other on the matches. The whole thing seems to be a lot friendlier. Its kind of cool to watch. They're in there giving it everything they've got and bloodying the hell out of each other, but beyond the competition and the need to win there isn't any unnecessary animosity but its lack doesn't water down the action.
