Here are some classic movies that I strongly urge everyone to see. You can not honestly call yourself a movie lover if you haven't seen at least 7 of these 10 films at minimum. I personally have seen all 10 of these at least 20 times each in my entire life. I fully recommend these movies with 5 stars each. They are fantastic and are pretty much better than any of the movies made today. I am not putting them in any specific order. Just naming them off.

Ghostbusters 1 (and if you have time 2)

Indiana Jones (all of them, all 3 or soon to be 4)

The Great Outdoors

Lost Boys

Spaceballs

Friday the 13th part 1

Little Shop of Horrors

Revenge of the Nerds

Sixteen Candles

Better off Dead

I've just seen three, I'm officially not a movie lover.

Seen these:
Ghostbusters 1 (and if you have time 2)
Indiana Jones (all of them, all 3 or soon to be 4)
Spaceballs
Friday the 13th part 1
Little Shop of Horrors
Revenge of the Nerds
Better off Dead

Have not seen these:
The Great Outdoors
Lost Boys
Sixteen Candles

I don't consider myself a movie "lover", but I like them. Still my memory is such that I can't recall certain details of the movies I've seen.

How can you not list The Breakfast Club, Grosse Pointe Blank, Mallrats, or The Last Dragon!

Also:

If you haven't put City of God atop your Queue yet... you fail... you can't claim any movie to be better than present ones till ya see it.

GPB is fabulous.

It shows the true quality to look for in a best friend.... a guy who asks what to do with a body before asking wtf happened.

Wish I could find the exact quote (tried, taking too long)

"So what do we do with the body?"

"You're not gonna ask why I killed him?"

"I'm sure you have your reasons"

... I need to see that movie again (Opens Netflix, queues to top of list)

I only had room for 10 spots in the list and I decided to only put 1 John Cusack movie in for now. Breakfast club was amazing but put sixteen candles in instead. Mallrats though one of my favorite movies not quite a classic. And if I put in a Kevin Smith movie it would have to be Clerks because its what started it all. Last Dragon is ok, it isn't so great. Though it is probably one of the first SPOOF films. It may be the grandfather to all those fucking scary movie, epic movie, date movie, and now Meet the spartans movies. Thats why it didn't get a place in the list.

Now I know you didn't just compare blaxsploitation to meet the spartans.

Dolemite would whip some ASS right now.

Also some honorable mention movies I had to leave out:

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Terminator 1
Psyco (Original)

And Last Dragon was a total Spoof on all the popular Bruce Lee movies. It is the grandfather of Spoof movies. Much like Gene Wilders old comedy horror movies are. He used to take old Vampire and Frankenstein movies and made comedies out of them. Back then these were funny and worth while to watch. Now..... they come out as drek like Meet the Spartans.

I am quite happy to report that I have seen /all/ of the movies mentioned thus far. I also recently (as of a pair of months or so) purchased "Grosse Point Blank" in a 2 disc set with "High Fidelity". GPB is definitely something I could watch again. Jeremy Piven's character showed himself to be a true friend by immediately helping move (and dispose of) said body first and not stopping to wonder what the hell until later.
