So I'm trying to build a reference base about things you do/did as a kid. I'm looking for games played like hide and seek, hopscotch, tag, etc. Mocking names like copy cat, tattletale, scaredy cat, etc.
There's a couple of more things I'll throw in the mix later but I think this is a good start.
I imagine it being fun just to talk about _________________ Steve

to kick it off.
I was stuck at day care most of my childhood but the advantage was there were a lot of other kids stuck there too. We use to play a lot of pretend games that included others like hide and seek or racing.
There were black rubber mats around the jungle gym and monkey bars and we would pretend it was water and gym and bars were island havens. Sometimes people would disappear and we would have to form search parties to find and rescue them.
I also use to spin myself around and around til i fell down and stumbled and fell again trying to get back up. _________________ Steve

My childhood, was spent in the end of the world, even more south from where I am currently, there were no movies, tv arrived with days of delay, so imagination came in pretty handy,
Childhood, seems to be similar for all, everyone played hide and seek, tag and races.
We also used to pretend a lot, we even pretended to be a family (much resemblance to sims), we used to pretend a lot with small cars (those that are really small, matchbox, hotwheels and stuff) we could build a whole city with anything we could find, computers didn't have color, so qbasic nibbles was the best game ever (LOL). In summer water guns offered and balloons gave us lots of fun. _________________ "just imagine a good signature, and then put it here" |

i was really looking forward to your response too Yino. happy you were the first to respond.
I figures they'd be similar. Hoping that someone will bring up some gem that we've forgotten or never heard about.
I remember sim'ish family games too _________________ Steve

Dodgeball and Socco were the shit.
Make and throw paper air planes.
Ride bikes
Sit down on a skateboard and go balls first down a hill.
Throw fruit at walls to make 'em go BOOM.
Come on steve... you know you remember our time as kids (or like 20+ year olds) jumping off the swings at the Rose Bowl.
Lastly... for the ladies.
Mash
Stupid fucking game. _________________

G.I. Joes
Making forts out of cardboard boxes
We did this thing on the playground called The 5th Grade Raid: a bunch of us boys would wait 'til a bunch o' the girls were settling into some kind of pretend game and then we'd crash it. And, sure enough, they'd chase us around the playground until it evolved into tag or something. Everyone had a good time except for the Queen Bee of the bunch because she was a control freak.
Lots and lots of T.V. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

For some reason, back in my old grade school, the girls got it into their heads that it'd be fun to "hit" the boys. Nothing serious, but a punch that would be felt. That morphed into the boys keeping tabs as to either A) how many of them girls they could avoid, or B) how many hits they've taken and just shrugged it off.
Was fun. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

You're kidding, right?
They're both names/taunts you give to Party Poopers (there's another one). Basically, anyone who spoils the fun for others or refuses to have fun. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."
