Someone made an Interesting Times mention which means I get to bring up one of the best Discworld characters Cohen the Barbarian. I'm so glad he got a stand alone illustrated children's story book.

Sweet Guardian avatar:)

And the Silver Horde was just scary. I think they re-ran an illustration of them as a group from "The Last Hero" in the GURPS Discworld book

Yes they did. Great picture.

It's just a scary thought, having them hobble at you at blinding speeds.

The one in the wheel chair with the blades on the spokes always scared me the most.

Interesting Times is probably the best Rincewind book, followed by The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic. I personally felt that Sourcery and Eric fell flat and the Last Continent was unreadable.

I guess that is why despite having read Sourcery and Last Continent I remember almost nothing about them. I did enjoy Eric though. It wasn't great but it was definitely good.

Pratchett is just hard to defeat. Don't feel bad.

Anyway, back to Discworld:

Night Watch. Favorite book. Unfortunately, I wouldn't let someone else read that before getting to know the Watch first in other books.

Agreed. Most of the Pratchett books do stand up alone though, which is one of my favorite parts about his writing. I've never even made an attempt to read those books in order. The first one I read was Men at Arms. Then I went back and read the earlier books.

It's also awesome that if you do read them all there isnt that annoying twenty page or more recap.
