http://kotaku.com/gaming/drink-up/wii-tennis-tourney-268339.php

Tournament being organized at a place called Barcade in Brooklyn. Drinks, Wii Sports, classic arcade machines that still run on quarters.

There's gotta be something like a Barcade out here! There's gotta be!

Barcade. Its a bar in New York that has tons of older arcade machines that run on quarters. You can drink like you were in a bar and play old school games. They're having a tournament with the Wii. I suggested since there are people that come here that live in that area they might want to check it out.

Paul expressed a hope that we had something like Barcade over here. I meantioned Dave & Busters, but that is more a adult Chuck E. Cheese with a club on top. Obviously a bar with more hardcore arcade machines that only cost quarters in better than a sort of theme place with machines that cost several bucks to play in some cases and a roof bar you need to stand in line for.

Dude, D&B as an adult Chuck E. Cheese is a spot on depiction. I hate that place. Barcade, on the other hand, sounds like a concept I could really enjoy.

I'd been to the old Barcode in Times Square, That closed down a couple of years ago. I can't say it's much different from Dave and Busters.. It was fun, but not exactly worth going to Brooklyn for. (Yes, I've become a snob since I moved to Manhattan. I've barely left the island since last summer.)

This is actually not Barcode, this is Barcade. Combination of Bar and Arcade. Not only do I love Wii Tennis and Beer, but I love Barcade. We should go sometime Dan. Its a bar decorated in a classic arcade/video game style with classic coin operated arcade games around the place.

Oh, so it is. Basically though that's what Barcode was as well, except without the classic gaming emphasis and the addition of a LAN section.

Which is exactly why I mentioned it, It would be cool if you guys went down and hung out. You may end up with one more cool place to head to after work. Do it for us who can't!

Also, do what you can to get Dan off the island. Its bad enough he dives for the $50 cheese when we're on a $30 budget;p
