Yes, but there's nothing gay about singing a Smiths song...nevermind it is a dude singing about feelings for another dude....Morissey Rocks!

What is it about Morrissey and Mexicans? He's like emo for cholos or something.

"Ask a Mexican" by Gustavo Arellano has a whole chapter in its "Music" section and the Mexican love of Morrissey. It breaks down alot of factors, similarities in music, and possible reasons and details how much he's done to acknowledge and play to that particular demographic. One of the reasons given has to do with KROQ and what they were playing during the major initial periods of northward immigration. Just like the Dodgers became big with Mexicans because at the time they were total winners, so did they start to like Morrissey because he owned the non-traditional airwaves. Of course, thats just one reason given.

Yeah. Its a pretty informative book with answers and possible answers for all kinds of stuff. Ny and myself got a copy from Amazon.com after having heard the author on the Kevin & Bean show (I also read his column in the L.A. Weekly). If you think of it as a reference book its all good.

Hoboing isn't exactly the commercial travel alternative it once was. That being said, you could take the train but according to Dan thats a 3 day trip.
Driving? Kinda harsh and gas expensive. Planes? Delays and searches. Your choice is clear: Cross country rafting!!

Yeah, something like that. But they did have carry on land for portions of the trip and probably didn't run into as many dams as you're going to.
