Okay, presently there are two major storylines running through the Star Wars books. There's the big war with that non-Force inhabiting beings that came from outside the known galaxy and started this ping-pong match involving Coruscant and who controls it. I know Boba Fett may have resurrected the Mandalorians/Clone Troopers and fought as mercenaries for the other race before turning the New Republic's side at a pivotal point (for pragmatic reasons) and turning the battle. Not sure where that is now or how things turned out since I haven't read those....
The other is what basically the next chapter in the Star Wars Universe... and it is known as the New Empire era. Thats right, the New Republic has fallen thats the the invasions and a new government has risen to take its place. Its years after the previous events and the Empire seems at the very least benign. They got some Twi'lek chick named Vao, Jedi trying to keep the Yavin school running, Sith back on Korriban, and the main character group basically resembles a cross between the crews of the ships Andromeda and Serenity.
There are two skywalker/solo Jedi (brothers) and while one has stayed behind at the temple to teach and train the other joined the previously mentioned mercenary crew and is keeping his Jedi abilities a secret due to general animosity. I believe this takes place in the "Star Wars: Legacy" series.
I know the nature of time and history can be pretty cyclical and Star Wars adheres to those cycles in certain ways, but this is pretty much hitting the reset but just after conflict resolution and saying "Okay, all the stuff we just resolved? Lets bring it right back. We'll change a few names but now we can run those stories again." I'm not going to be totally against it, but I'd need to see some good writing before I started to commit to picking any of this up. If anyone has picked up any of this stuff and given it a more thorough inspection, would you care to share your thoughts/criticisms? _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |
