Spidey 3 was a fun watch, but I think the previous two flicks were done better.

I agree with Dan, 1 is still the best and followed by 3. 2 did not have enough beatings, nothing against the Doc, thought he was awesome, but really tame to what we get in the 3rd.

I totally reject those people who proclaim that 2 was teh bestest ev4r and better than 1. I liked one. As Steve put it "It looked like he was having tons of fun learning his powers and being who he was". He also expressed an opinion that for the first time he felt like he wanted to be Spiderman.
I wouldn't go that far. All actual opinions on that point are pending whether or not he's a clone.
2 wasn't bad it just wasn't a) as good as the first and b) as good as they said it was. And the same people that proclaimed it as such say the same of 3.

And Kevin & Bean have already explained the evil of his Emo-side (with eyeliner I hear)

Spidey 3 was clearly the worst of the three. Everyone's going on and on about how much action 3 had...it was meaningless. 1 was fun and a great revision of the old "hero's origin" story. 2 was the heart and soul of what Spider-Man is: you could have all the super powers in the world but it's the substance behind the mask that makes the hero. What did 3 have? The warning of an unchecked inner dark side was muddled with comic relief (I mean, didn't you laugh out loud every time he flashed that ridiculous hair cut?).

Character motivations were just as murky. If the Sandman's main impetus is his daughter's illness then he's really playing out of character at the end when he's seeking revenge on Spidey. Are we to assume that his daughter is dead because of Spidey's actions earlier? That would make more sense as to why he's hunting Spidey when he runs into Venom. I mean, shouldn't he be out robbing more banks instead of having an impromptu "team-up" with Venom? That scene, by the way, had some of the worst dialog in a super-hero movie (the worst being Arnold in Batman 4, "Chill out!").

Speaking of Venom, was he a total waste or what? His character arc had to be cut so short that he barely had any time to be "bad." And, I'm sorry, but I had absolutely no sympathy for Eddy Brock. That 70's Kid was just too snarky for his own good. There just wasn't enough time to properly introduce the character.

And since when did young Harry Osborne's butler become Alfred? He dispenses pithy advice to his young charge between picking-up the dry cleaning and fluffing Master's pillow? He's obviously in the wrong profession because, not only does he cure Harry of his longstanding obsession for his father but turns him into a wise-cracking hero to boot. Waaaaay too convenient.

The one real bright spot in the movie was "The Chin." He was great. He's always great.

I believe Dee said it best when he stated that Brisco County was only worth watching because it starred Bruce Campbell.

Can't stand any of the Spiderman movies, I just don't like the character. I saw the first one on a plane ride home and only because I couldn't sleep in the cramped chair. 2nd and 3rd I saw cause everyone else wanted to see em and I figured I'd at least get a laugh or 2 out of em. 3 did deliver the laughter though. Wink

Now that you mention it, yes. Odd but not surprising, given the film's overall lackluster presentation.
