Its good to know that I am not the only one out there who has Godzilla Syndrome.

The only questioin would be who would know more the musical score and artist per scene.

"If Arturo (Parsifal) would just pry away from whatever it is that he does for one second, you'd have someone to speak with for hours on end, Celo.

Maybe he's lurking and he'll spot this post."

*emerges from the water of Tokyo Harbor with a mighty crash*

Goddam this waters polluted...
And what I'm doing is abusing a joint Amazon Prime account to get goodies like "Godzilla vs. Megaguirus" and the "Gamera Trilogy".

As for scores and such, I do know Akira Ifukube who did the awesome Toho March and the theme from "Destroy All Monsters" just to name two of his better known works, but he's one of the bigger people and I'm not /totally/ aware of all the actors and set people. But watching guys in rubber monster suits beat the crap out of each other sure is fun, isn't it?

I sure can agree with you on that one. I don't know what it is about a larger than life figure crash down on a model set, but it sure rocks!!!

I was going to jump on the Big Kaiju Battel DVD Series, but every since they made it big after there first DVD got notice it sure went down the drain!

Sure comming ashore from Tokyo Harbor is a good, one but my person Favorite is 1992 Gvs King Gidorha, there is nothing like the sound of a soft Violin as Godzilla is Comes Ashore in Hokikado, with the LightHouse in the foreground and cow pasture! I even went so far to buy the Imported Sound Track!

Also a rare gem and a must have Atom Troy's Dance Godzilla.

Yeah, thats Gamera ("friend of children everywhere")

....not sure if that implies that being 18 or over means you're borked...

Have you seen the recent release of Richard Donner's cut of the movie? I think it's much improved.

I haven't seen the Daredevil cut so I don't know how to compare it. Donner's cut is simply way less campy (no more Super symbol that turns into a giant Super Trash Bag that engulfs your enemy...etc.) and more tightly paced.

From what I /hear/ it was a whole different movie. The biggest thing was that they dropped the whole Elektra love story from it.

And while we're talking about cheese, I've got two more "wheels" for you guys:

"You Can't Do That On Television"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Can%27t_Do_That_On_Television

And anyone remember "Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot" Wink?

It is, in fact, an entirely different movie. I have to sit down with you and watch it. I'm usually free on Sunday nights and all day Mondays. Tell me a when and I'll bring it right over. Very Happy

"Godzilla: Final Wars"

If you've ever seen a single Godzilla you more than likely know at least part of the plot to "Final Wars". Directed by Ryuhei Kitamura (Of "Vs." fame) it is totally jam packed with Big-G goodness. Its got tons of monsters, Aliens from outer space proclaiming they are here to protect us, the freaking Kaitengunka Gotengo (The flying ship Atragon on this side of the ocean) which is captained by Mixed Martial Arts champion and dead ringer for Mike Haggar - Don Frye, super-human mutans, ground battles, monsters beating the crap out of each other, ship to ship combat, Monster X, and yes, even the American Godzilla and Minya (Godzuki!)....

It looks good, has tons of special effects and you get to see Godzilla just plow through monsters. Seeing how it was Toho's send-off for Godzilla they decided to throw in everything they could find. Highly recommended for your requirement of fermented lactose!
