Can't really say much about this yet. Not many details going around. What I do know are two things.
1) There are scripts already being circulated to the execs to try and woo them into biting (One team even produced a glossy, full-length graphic novel with which to woo the eye candy appreciating brass with not enough time to read through the whole thing)
2) Len Wiseman is currently negotiating with New Line Cinema for the directorial rights. Some of you may know the name, for those of you who do not he is the person who directed both "Underworld" films as well as the the very recent and very fun "Live Free or Die Hard".
Besides giving us things like Spawn New Line has given us "The Ninja Turtles" and "The Lord of The Rings" trilogy. It has a record of offering up shiny, shiny films and seems to be willing to spread itself around a bit. Add to it a director who, while not having a long history of films, the three he has released are both fun and action packed. Could be worth a look if he ends up the guy on it, just remember that the director is merely on Cog <snickers> in the machine. He could make it better, but it may not be that good to begin with. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |

If Terry Tate plays Cole, I'm watching it. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Not necessarily. They could easily go with a much bigger "name", but we'd know... we'd know....
Recently got Steve to sit down and watch the "Terry Tate- Office Linebacker" series. Between laughing hysterically he kept repeating one line, "Get ready for the Pain Train! WoooOOO WOoOOOO!!!"
For anyone interested in watching them (either again or for the first time) I present to you, a link:

It was a series of commercials Reebok made a few years ago which debuted during the Super Bowl. No idea which one though:P
Okay. Tate's easy enough, but anyone got any "picks" for the other cast members?

The script better be invincible because the premise and story for the game are quite typical of its genre (next-gen storytelling indeed ). The thing that made Live Free or Die Hard so watchable was Bruce Willis. Put any other actor in that role and it's just another special effects laden actioner we could give a shit about. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

Yeah "Gears of War" wasn't anything spectacular story-wise. Most of it was left vague and you can see where parts of it are going, and some of the most important bits of the puzzle you'd have to be reading from other places because you just don't get them in the game. What it was about was action, the game mechanics, and highlighting the machines graphics engine.
Actually though, when the movie goes through, if they pace the action properly and we get decent characterization it doesn't have to be "fine art". We're really just hoping for something fun that doesn't push past the line into "stupid". _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |

I'm thinking something along the lines of Aliens: tension derived from real human drama couched in a wonderful little pocket of gore and machine-guns. That movie would've been perfect had there been some kind of mini-gun somewhere in there. Oh, did I mention I like heavy machine-guns? Whenever someone says "30 mike mike" my nipples get hard. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?
