Has anyone actually went out and re-watched the old cartoons that we all used to watch? I just remember poping in the transformers TV show and a year ago and saying WTF... I watched thes... (the movie is still the best though). I was thinking about looking for Voltron, but I don't know if I want to destroy my childhood memories of the show. Confused

Arturo handed me a DVD of the entire Sonic The Hedgehog, saturday morning cartoon series about 2 weeks ago. I believe he said, "Here's your childhood before Sega bent it over and reamed it to death."

Funny thing, as bad as the animation quality is, I still find myself entertained by the writing. It's not Shakespear, but pretty good and ahead of its time for a kids cartoon.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I really don't find myself nostalgic over old childhood cartoons for the most part. The old shows I did watch that I can still watch today are ones like "Alf" or "Night Court" just for the simple fact that I pick up on all the humor now that I never noticed as a kid.

Night court kicked ass.
Roz, Bull Shannon, Harry Stone, Dan Fielding...tons of good characters and lots and lots of jokes.....like the time Harry actually got to meet Mel Tormé and wouldn't stop stalking him...

Animaniacs, Hysteria, and to a less extent (damn you Spielburg!!) Tiny Toons. Good stuff with plenty for, not necessarily adults, but anyone who could understand beyond the simple front gags.

i didn't get to watch TV on the weekdays during my late adolescent/early teenage years so i missed a lot of the afternoon toon shows. as much as i loved sleeping in i would wake up at 6:30 in the morning to watch TMNT, go back to sleep and wake up at 10 to catch earthworm jim and the tick shortly after. i remember this kick ass mega man cartoon too, but nowadays i wonder if i had just imagined it. if i could i would own every single episode of the smurfs, i love those lil blue bastards

No, you're not imagining things. There was a "kick ass" mega man cartoon on saturday mornings a few years back. Unfortunately, it received little exposure so it didn't last too long.

Looney Toons and violence...still the best. I need to go hunt down the classics, Yosemite Sam and Elmer Fudd when they still packed guns...FUCKING CENSORSHIP! Crying or Very sad

Good luck finding Sam or Fudd with guns, good luck finding Bugs in drag, and good luck finding Speedy Gonzales at all.

I miss the old shows. The things kids watch these days have no moral fiber...and their not even funny.

Most of the Disney Afternoon shows were pretty damn good now that I remember. Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, and Tale Spin were my favorites. Gargoyles had me hooked from the get-go.

Duck Tales had plenty of Moral Fiber and comedy to boot.
