For anyone who does not know yet, this is the animated film based off of the "Castlevania" series of games from Konami. The main storyline for the series has been about the Belmonts, a ancient clan of vampire hunters imbued with powers beyond most normal men acquired through a secret pact and have sworn to opposed the vampire lord Dracula at every turn in his centuries long quest to rule the world. As part of their deal the family was armed with a magical relic weapon (a whip named "Vampire Killer") which grows in power to match Dracula's current level, but only in their hands.
The screenplay is currently being written/revised by comics scribe and cynical fan favorite Warren Ellis. For the movie they have chosen "Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse" and its Belmont lead Trevor as Dracula's nemesis for this particular go-around. While many would have preferred original manly man (and one of the three Men which the Man Cannon has sought to emulate) Simon Belmont (from the original NES game) choosing this particular incarnation would allow them to touch on the Belnades (a clan of spell casters dedicated to the same goal as the Belmonts) and series favorite Alucard, Dracula's own son and anagram.
According to Ellis himself the final product (as he writes it) will have plenty of accents, hitting things with other things, and the occasional mention of sex with goats. How much of the last one actually makes it to the final script is still up in the air. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |
