A production company by the name of CP productions has recently announced their intent on creating both a feature film and a graphic novel based off the property. Initial details are sketchy but one of the most solid pieces of information is that it will be set 25 years in the future on a floating Las Vegas. Less solid but more amusing is that its being described as "Gladiator meets Mad Max". With Ostriches.

Production is planned to wrap up before June of 2008 so we may be able to see this (if you have any desire to) by the end of next year. Afterwards? Apparently the CP Productions plan is to bring more "classic" video game licenses to the big screen, in "updated" forms of course. Supposedly with so many other video game properties making money in the theaters, and the business of games itself making billions, these sorts of movies have become far more attractive to movie studios than they have in the past.

For those unaware of this game, the basic premise was simple. The player was a knight armed with a lance, mounted atop a ostrich (if Player 1. Player 2 would ride a Emu) and would face off against waves of mounted knights. These enemies came in three types, Red (easy), White (medium) and Blue (hard). These he would try to kill within the alloted time by flying into them weapon first or dropping on top of them. If the player didn't kill them all in time a pterodactyl would appear from the side of the screen and rapidly fly at the player to try and kill them via impact.

The image above is the map. Singular. That's right, thats it. There was just one map to it. You'd hop around, kill some knights, and they'd just get harder and chase you around the same screen. The only change for the map is that those two brown lines over the two lava pools would fall away to create a extra screen hazard (from which the lava troll would rise to seize either the player(s) or the enemies if they got too close!!). "Fun Times"
