Awww, poor Helen looks so devastated! Sad I just want to hug her!

That coach was such a jerk! Evil or Very Mad

Also, yay GURPS!

That coach is probably the reason why Helen's an Ugly Duckling. So, in a way, that coach did a good thing for Helen.

Ugly Duckling: A Cute or Hot girl who was not always, or was not originally considered to be, attractive and therefore did not grow up with the sense of entitlement one develops from receiving preferential treatment from those around you, especially guys.

I don't know...unless she was all kinds of spotty (blemishes and not the freckles which are her Irish birthright) she's still cute for her age. Sure she has braces but thats whatever. In terms of the geek column it ups her quotient (and subsequent cuteness) a bit.

But that coach is part of the traditional Coach-Jock-Cheerleader Triangle, so her (it was a her, right?;p) opinion makes sense.

but she's still evil. And what's wrong with freckles? Remember Arturo choose your words carefully I will soon live close enough to hunt you down.

"unless she was all kinds of spotty (blemishes and not the freckles which are her Irish birthright) she's still cute for her age."

Let us break down that sentence shall we? Since part of it is in parenthesis it is related but meant to be read outside of the proper sentence at hand. This may have been where the problem lies, so we shall separate the two and read them individually:

"..unless she was all kinds of spotty she's still cute for her age."

"blemishes and not the freckles which are her Irish birthright."

Hmm... a bit better but could still be mis-interpreted, sooo:
"..unless she was all kinds of spotty (blemishes) she's still cute for her age."

Better?Razz

As can and should be seen from the above sentences I made a exclusion for freckles, meaning I don't consider them as a bad thing. I actually like (and have) freckles;p

And yes, the coach is evil, but it is an understandable evil for she sits within the unholy trinity described above.

Great to get to meet you, Dan! Very Happy

Yeah, I liked GURPS a lot, even though I never got to play it much. I think it was the first system I had much exposure to. I loved making characters (I probably made dozens) and creating new races, because the generation rules were just so much fun, all the advantages/disadvantages/quirks to give characters personality. It was great!

And yeah, I thought Helen was cute when she was young! Sad

Definitely looking forward to watching this story arc unfold!

Hmm, unholy trinity... makes me want to see an rpg where all the coaches, jocks and cheerleaders are actually some kind of demonic cult or something. Heh. Or maybe zombies. An entire campaign taking place on a school campus could be interesting. (I'm still so sad that I never got to play GURPS IOU....) Sad

Never got to play GURPS IOU!? You poor thing!

And I'm being serious. GURPS IOU has provided our group with YEARS of entertainment and countless stories.

I know, it's such an awesome setting! I've read the sourcebook over and over, and it's influenced the design of so many of my stories since then. So I yam sad to not be able to play it. Sad

Interesting sidenote. Elizabeth McCoy, who wrote GURPS IOU loves Dave's art.

That's really cool! Very Happy Dave's art seems like it would fit the IOU world very well. Plus I can only imagine the kind of creativity it takes to write a setting like IOU. I bet she's a very interesting person.

It would be fun to see a Squishy GURPS sourcebook. lol. There could be an entire section on Office Pranks. I wonder what the stats for a Cupcake Gun would be. Wink

The Cupcake Gun would only be available to those characters that have managed to climb the ranks to at LEAST Assistant. It would not be allowed to fall into the hands of just any ol' Intern, no offense to our own.

And yeah, Dan here had me draw some Chibi versions of the Arch Angels/Demons of Inomine (not sure if I spelled that correctly) just for fun. Turns out that "just for fun" meant that he was showing them off to some of his online aquaintances... one of which was Elizabeth. I was both flattered and highly embarassed.

Awww, how cute! Are you planning to post those sometime? Wink

So in GURPS Squishy, you'd have to buy Rank or Status? Intern, Assistant... hmm, what would some of the others be? Secretary? Tech Monkey? So many possibilities. Wink Hee hee. I suppose the staff could count as an Ally Group.
