Announced for 2008. "Speed Racer". Directed by the (in?)famous Wachowski brothers. Produced by Joel Silver. If you've ever seen any of the original episodes then you'll know how the story will go, but for those who wish here is a synopsis.

Some cast notables:
Emile Hirsch as Speed
Christina Ricci as Trixie
Susan Sarandon as Moms Racer
John Goodman as Pops Racer
Matthew Fox as Racer X
and
Richard Roundtree as Ben Burns
For those not familiar with the last name on the list, thats motherfu"Shut yo mouth!"...Just talkin' about Shaft. Damn Right!

I wonder if Hollywood would ever decide to tackle something like Ranma 1/2 Wink

I don't see why not. I mean, they're already doing "Dragon Ball Z" with "Buffy"/"Angel"'s James Marsters as Piccolo.

All they needed to do was teach my girlfriend to fly a helicopter and follow me with a camera... The only thing I can't do is jump the car (I would never hurt my poor car like that Shocked ). Either way... I an always afraid when they change classic cartoons to movies... I have not even seen the new Transformers movie... and come to think of it... I am still mad at Rodimus for getting Optimus Prime killed on the old cartoon movie... stupid kid Evil or Very Mad .

I got to watch "Transformers" the live action movie the right way...in a format that I didn't pay for and the ability to switch the speed to 2x or 4x and skim the subtitles whenever it went back to being about the kid and his car. This kept things interesting and made sure it didn't just drag on before getting to the good fights at the end.

As a result it seemed a bit short (;p) but ended up a decent enough watch. Entertaining but not something I'd seek out to see again.

Next up for Live Action Movie:

Carebears vs Smurfs

Gargamel has managed to open a wormhole to the Carebears world. Brainy successfully over threw Papa Smurf and the Smurfs have become an army of evil. Smurfette has turned into a baby popping machine and the Smurfs have overrun the Carebear clouds. This of course is 3 years after the extermination of the Snorks thanks to a dasterdly plan by Cook Smurf. Grouchy Smurf and Lucky Bear have fallen in love and are in search of a way to stop the war. And who will the special Guest Star Rainbow Bright side with?

I believe your answer lies in the following excerpted passage:

Pass. Don't let them rape your childhood any more than they've already done (Transformers, Star Wars, etc.)

If you watch transformers and just take it as a alien robot movie.... then it was pretty decent

Even as an "alien robot movie" it sucked ass. I got two words for you: Michael Bay.
