So this isn't a review... it's just me wanting to tell this story cuz it makes me laugh.
So for a LONG time Arturo was pushing me to play this game. Eventually I caved and was enveloped by the awesomeness. I did have to start over a couple times because of some awful wastes of points... but whatevah! (Max out your assault rifles... I'm telling you... it's hax).
Anyways... so eventually I beat the game (all 3 endings) and go to Arturo with news of my victory. The response I get...
"Dude, don't tell me I still haven't beaten it."
My brain melted. Homie preached for around a year to get me to play this damn thing... then, to this day I bet, still hasn't beaten it.

Tell me about it...
My favorite story of your run is the Subway incident.
So, there's this subway area in the game that's littered with baddies and boobie traps. It's a pretty much a given that you WILL get hurt if you're lucky, Killed if you're not.
Arturo did the careful tactical assault, taking people down step by step.
I did a sneaky infiltration dealie using steam tunnels, took out a few guards from behind, then used the interior of the Subway's pillars to fight the guards who now had little cover and no benefit from their traps.
Here's Mike's experience: He tries Arturo's way and dies. He tries my way and gets found out WAY before he has a chance to set up. So... he then tries "Mike's Way".
Mike throws caution to the wind, pulls out his gun, runs straight down into the subway from the heavily guarded entrance. He shoots the first guard square between the eyes, then takes out two more guards unloading his clip into their chests, reloads, jumps on some crates unloading more bullets into the totally surprised guards, sets off the boobie traps with a well placed shot, killing even more guards, runs into the subway proper shooting people as they come at him... and never gets hit.
Mike's Way. It's awesome to witness when it works. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Me and sneaking don't go together very well. It's like in the Halo 2 days at one of our friends house. We had 4 xbox's hooked up... fucking eachother up.
One of our friends was talking shit... so I told him exactly this.
"Hey Ryan, here's what I"m gonna do at the start of this game... I'm gonna get the warthog, go jack your flag, and run the fuck back and cap it in your face."
I followed this by getting a Wartdog... hauling ass to the base, getting the flag, running back, and capping it.
I don't sit still or move slowly... it just doesn't work. It's like Call of Duty 4... "sneaky" for me is just being invisible, so I Can run and shoot people in the kidneys.

I'm all for not sitting still. I can sit still, I just don't like it. I'm with you with the "not being visible to shoot kidneys" deal. Last night I was on Call of Duty 4 I did just that. Silenced A-K, UAV Jammer (invisible to radar), and Dead Silence (Ninja style running without making noise). The poor souls I went up against thought they were safe setting up in cammo, sniping to their heart's conent while I was quickly and easily running BEHIND them placing bullets into their hearts, kidneys, and brains as well as running up to them to go with the stabby stabby.

No I have not beaten it because the current video card I use has a problem with running "Deus Ex" properly. The crowbar looks like a fat Sigma. Everything flickers, I can't read keypads and datapads. There's tons of stuff that mean I cannot play. I bought new copiess of the disc (kept one, gave out the others) and bought it again for my Steam account. I'd so be playing the hell out of it (currently on "Jagged Alliance 2") if I could actually play it properly. I still have my original install/save (with all my awesome plugins and mods hooked into it) in preparation for the day when I actually get a motherboard that has something beyond a standard PCI slot for the video card. I will play it again and I will beat it. I just can't yet.
To be fair Dave, my way also involved crashing into the main subway platform from the grate above right at the end;p _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<)
