I'm bored... Tell me your top 5... and why.
Ocarina of Time is banned from this list because for all people the list would be
1. Ocarina of Time - It owns faces... hard.
So yeah, no Ocarina.
Para Mi...
1. Xenogears - This game was the shit... simple as that. It trailed off in Disc two... because Square wanted to focus more on the next big hit (Chrono Cross... idiots) but regardless... Disc 1 was GREAT... and 2 was just too full of talk and not enough gameplay (Predecessor for Xenosaga "gameplay!?"). Anywho, story rocked, combat system rocked, badass. And no game before or after this made me audibly shout "what the fuck!?" when I realized a key part to the story.
2. Deus Ex - Few games have ENVELOPED ME as much as this badboy did. I kicked the shit out of it multiple times... doing things differently each time. This did what Bioshock promised it would do (and failed)... being that it was from the same company... I guess it makes sense, lol. Badass. FPSRPG ftw. The story ROCKED, the fighting rocked, the possibility for creativity rocked... it was just sick... the whole way through.
3. Geetar Hero 1/2 - This makes it onto the list SIMPLY because I had the games when I was living in the dorms... in an apartment type suite... with 6 dudes. We played this madness SO MUCH that it was fucking ridiculous. Just fun, and nothing but fun.
Winner shotguns a beer... it evens the playing field.
Note: Zero Punctuation got GH3 right... it's fine up to the last tier of songs... then Slayer + Metallica fuck your life up.
4. Mass Effect - This would be KOTOR if ME didn't exist. Bioware rocks my socks. Mass Effect was fucking crazy. It was easy to deviate from the main arc, thus, the story... with side quests. Eventually that got boring. The main story is fuckin cool as all hell though. There's a ton of shit to do. The combat is pure FUN... and you get to bang somebody. It's all win!
5. Starcraft - Countless countless countless hous of playing this fuckin' game. I ain't gotta say shit for it... if you don't know what it is, I hate you. Protoss FTW.
Other notes;
I would say WoW since I have like... 150 days clocked on my priest... but that would be like saying "My favorite thing to do is chain smoke while shooting up... oh and I have a Mickey Mouse LSD patch on my scroat." So fuck WoW.
FF7 is overrated IMO. It was a great game, but I think Xenogears took the 3D RPG lesson from FF7 and made it more badass. _________________

1- (will edit later)
2- Deus Ex. I have to agree with Mike. Fully engrossing game. His story differs from mine, due to the fact that you're given many options as to how to accomplish your goals.
3- Call of Duty 4. Newest game on the list. Quickly overtaking all others on my list. It is a fun, fast paced FPS where you compete with others, earn what you use, and every game feels like you got just a little closer to your next level thanks to it's nifty use of a leveling system. Every "+10" xp I see after killing someone is oh so sweet.
4- Super Mario 64. 3D platforming done right. Each level had it's own feel to it, and you could keep going back to the same stage a few times to progress if you liked it, or skip ahead to a different stage for something different. It was all good.
5- Chrono Trigger. Great characters. Great story. Multiple endings. Combat system that was straight forward, yet had enough to mess around with to keep it new.
Honorable Mentions:
Final Fantasy 6. My favorite in the FF series. Has a large cast that you actually care about and have a role to play in the story, the single most horrible person ever as the main villain (look up Kefka if you don't know), Great old school Console RPG action combat, and the graphics and sound are top notch for it's time. It's STILL playable if you want to give it a go on your DS/GBA.
Bubble Bobble. One of my first loves in gaming. Great gameplay and "kid friendly" due to a lack of violence... but if you sit and think about it... you spit a bubble at a living being, which gets trapped in a bubble of spit, which melts it down and transforms it into a fruit... sounds painful. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Ahhhhh, Tactics... Strong. I forgot about it... I think it overthrows Starcraft. I'm glad I jocked your style Dan... no main characters unless you HAD to.

1) Final Fantasy 7. It may be over rated to some. But this was my first RPG and the one that got me into games. If it wasn't for Final Fantasy 7 I probably wouldn't be here or a gamer at all. So Way to go FF7.
2) World of Warcraft. Any game that can make me keep logging on to punish myself has to be good. So what if I get kicked in the stomach every day and pay $14.95 a month for it. Thank you for giving me a second job Blizzard.
3) Final Fantasy Tactics. Modern Chess with the most awesome story. <3 Ramza, Delita, Zodiac Braves. Closely behind FF7 as my favorite of all time games. One of the best PSone titles, and definitely the best PSP title. I have the music soundtrack and listen to it often as well.
4) Prince of Persia series. I loved the PoP games. They had a great story, pretty music, beautiful graphics and scenes, and where else can you jump from wall to wall like a monkey. WHERE? =)
5) Speaking of monkeys.... SUPER MONKEY BALL!!!!!!! Monkey + Ball = Win. _________________ It's not easy being me but I make it look damn good.

Delitia can Die. In a Fire.
(Translation: The writers did an awesome job of making me hate him. So, he wins as a character. Still... I wanted to kill him. So. Fucking. Bad.) _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

2) WoW: Digital Crack.
3) FFTactics: "Everyone dies and the bad guy wins" -Dee
4) PoP: Difficult games
5) Super Monkey Ball: ... okay... this one makes your more of a Sadist... how can you do that to them poor monkeys?
So yeah... you like to subject yourself to lots of pain... I wouldn't have guessed. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Hey I remember Syndicate. That game was WAY old school. I would play at a neighbors house (along with Quake, Postal, etc etc) because my computer couldn't handle more than Raptor: Call of the Shadows and Doom. _________________
In no order whatsoever
1. Final Fantasy VII: Best villian EVER! I wanted to be Sephiroth at one pount in my life. Although Aerith was annoying, as was Tifa (but was the love intrest ever not annoying up until FFX) I liked all the others. Also all the U.S. added monster thingys are fun
2. KH 1+2: It's a tie I can't pick one! I never thought a video game featuring Disney charecters could be so much fun
3. Sonic The Hedgehog: I loved that little blue thing. It was the first video game I ever played!
4. Final Fantasy VIII: Although I'll get a lot of crap for this, I liked the battle system and the fact that the monsters level up with you, and most the the male charecters (+ Fujin) are awesome, except when Squall fell in nlove with Rinoa, who was annoying as all hell. And there were really good points in the story line, even if the last battle made no sense. I also loved the crad game... Yeah go ahead and laugh.
5. The Sims 2: Are we counting computer games here? I'm addicted it's awesome. I like to control people.
Just a question though, what was the deal with pitfall?
And I like pacman a lot, but it gets boring after a few levels _________________ IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!

The "deal" with Pitfall was that it was awesome. For its time.
The same goes for Pac-Man.
I don't mind sounding like an old-man because it has to be said, "You young-uns are spoiled. Back in our day, we didn't have no fancy scrolling screens, we dealt with 1 screen, and we were grateful to have it!" _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Maybe it was because I was five, but I could never get pass the second pit in pitfall, but I was five when I played sonic and I was able to get through the levels...
Also Dave, you're not that old... right? _________________ IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!
