To continue with the Japanese horror movie trend another piece of high tech equipment is trying to kill us. First we were told to be afraid of Televisions because of a wet little girl who would make us turn green and deformed (Ring). Then we were warned about the radio because ghosts can travel through frequency waves (White Noise). Not to be outdone by radio the internet stepped up to bat allowing ghosts and boogie monsters to filter through and turn us into ash (Pulse). Feeling the sting of being left out video games had to make themselves known to the horror field letting us know if we die in a video game we die in real life (Stay Alive). So what's new today? Your Cell phone. You pick it up, you hear yourself die, and well you die. Are you scared yet? You should be if you paid $10.50 to see this crap fest of over used similar effects and the worlds most annoying ring tone ever. 2 out of 5. It goes bump with loud noises and scares you. Boooo!

PG-13 and horror movies don't go together. Also, this looked retarded. Glad to hear the conformation.

In all fairness, I'll give The Ring (American version) the "First movie to ever give Dave a sense of fear" award.

Most horror/slasher movies don't scare me. The Ring didn't scare me at the theater (saw it with Mike), but it DID manage to instill enough of an uneasy feeling that it made working my job later that night just a little bit on this side of creepy.

I was working at the Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
It was the graveyard shift.
I work alone. ALL alone. With weird sounds now and then that I hardly ever noticed before...
And the hallways were just a tad... darker... and longer...
And the cold storage room that used to be the morgue for dead babies suddenly felt... creepy... and colder... and I could hear children...

Yeah... that was my longest night there. I made it a point to stretch out my break down in the cafeteria where there were people, and to walk the ER where it was active. I stayed the fuck away from my area (Pathology and Lab) that night.

===

Tangent: So every time I went to the cold storage room I always felt a slight tinge of unease, and I could SWEAR that I could hear very faint laughter. I ASSUMED (probably correctly since my brain refuses to believe in ghosts) that since it IS a children's hospital that the cold storage room was probably situated near a play area or some such. ANYWAY, I have a nasty tendancy to sneak up on people since I step lightly and I don't speak up much. So, when one of my poor co-workers, a very nice and shy lab-tech girl was picking stuff up from the cold storage room, I decided to greet her... when I was right behind her... and made no noise I was in the room with her... poor girl took a good five minutes of me calming her down and getting her to stop crying. Yeah... she let me know that the storage room was indeed the old baby morgue... I felt like such an asshole for scaring her, even if it was unintentional.

So, what? The default Motorola ring-tone or the "Larry the Cable Guy" video ringer?
