Only real rule... only Video Game villains. No saying "there was a batman game, so joker!!!" None of that shit.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD!

Here be my list (mine and dave's may be close since we did speak of this at lunch.

1) FF Tactics - Delita
Possibly not the coolest, most sadistic, hateful, crazy motherfucker ever. But he had 1 thing going for him that most villains don't. He actually WON. No loose ends, no compromises, nothing. 100% consolidation of power with no opposition. You really CAN'T fuck with that.

2) Kefka - Dave will explain this in his post. Too good...

3) Silent Hill - Silent Hill.
The town just fucks with you... it fucks with you relentlessly and it will never stop fucking with you. It does fucked up shit, fucks with your head, and fucks you all up. For REALZ!

4) Warcraft - Arthas
He's a dickhead. He was always a bastard that had the "for the greater good" mentality. Burning Stratholme to "save" the people from becoming scourge, etc. At first his motives were "okay" then along comes Ner'Zhul to tempt him and bam.... Arthas with Frostmourne is born. Then it's a path of killing and bad shit to serve the Lich King and ultimately bind with him.
I personally can't wait to fuckin' waste this dickhead in WotLK assuming my guild gets that far. (Illidan will be lucky this xpac)

There's more, but I can't think of any GOOD ones right now. I'm sure I'll be commenting on what people have to say too. Have at it... give us 1-5 baddies!!!

WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILARRZZZ

1. Final Fantasy 6- Kefka: Pure, unadultered evil. This sad, wretched excuse for a man has no sob story that turned him towards evil. He WAS always evil (and insane). He did it for the sheer thrill of it. Pillaging, raping, death, destruction, betrayal... and he did this while laughing all the way. He had no redeeming traits what-so-ever.

He is my #1 Video Game villain for almost all the same reasons The Joker is my #1 Comic Book villain... possibly #1 PERIOD.

2. Super Mario Series - Bowser: No matter how out of touch his schemes may be, no matter how much you love or hate him, no other video game villain in the HISTORY of video games has shown the sheer amount of perservereance that Bowswer has shown. Mario and Luigi stomp him, bash him, hammer him, toss him, burn him, and just pretty much makes him look like a chump, and he STILL has the cojones to to shrug it off, stand confident, and try to kidnap Princess Peach over, and over, and over again! HELL, he will TEAM UP with Mario and Luigi to SAVE the princess whenever some other A-hole steps on his turf. Bowser is to Villains what Ash Catchem is to "heroes", he's all heart if nothing else.

Side Note: I might move Bowser to #1 just because I like the cut of his jib.

3. Conker's Bad Fur Day - The Great Mighty (linked to video) If you have ear phones at work/school, watch it. Otherwise, it's "NSFW". That song ALONE makes him worthy of a spot here.

4. Final Fantasy Tactics - Delita: Mike covered it. He's not the "worst" in the sense of evil-ness. But he won. You hear that? He WON. Everybody died and the badguy won. What other video game villain can claim that AFTER the game ends. DURING don't count.

5. Portal - GLadDOS: A computer A.I. that has you run through a series of tests, mind-fucks you, tries to kill you, and then SINGS about it at the end? Plus "she" has an awesome personality and sense of humor? What's not to like in a villain?

Honorable mentions:

Bioshock's Atlas: Pretends to be your ally, then fucks you. "Would you Kindly bend over and get reamed in the ass?"

The Legend of Zelda series' Ganondorf: Almost a more "serious" Bowser. Not his fault that some young punk kid always shanks him with the blade that defeats him.

1) Sephiroth
I mean, come on, he killed the love of my life!! (well, Cloud's life anyway)

2) Darth Revan
I know, turns out you in fact are the Dark Lord of the Sith but that's what's so cool about it: if you go full Dark Side the villain (that is, you) win! Even if you don't, and opt to go Light Side, think about it: this guy is so badass he went full bore over to the Dark Side and came back!

3) Delita
Yes, Mike is spot on. And for those of you that didn't stick around for the end credits: you missed out on a whopper of an ending.

4) Donkey Kong
That ape is one mean motherfucker.

5) Balthazar
OK get this: the story goes, in the Baldur's Gate saga, that the god of Murder, Bhaal, went around and fucked a lot of mortal women in order to save his divine essence from the coming catastrophe that will end all the known gods. You play as one of his many mortal progeny and along the way you meet your demi-god siblings and kill them (think Highlander) for one reason or another. Now the final culmination of all this is that, at the end, there are only 5 of you left in the world and whoever kills the other 4 will become the god of Murder. Enter Balthazar, monk and one of the 5. He fools you into killing 2 of the 5 (a dragon, and a Drow) and before dispatching you he goes into the tried and true villain rant. But instead of the old "I am the one" speech he tells you of his ultimate plan: he's going to kill the last 4 (including you) then turn the knife on himself, thus ending the reign of the god of Murder forever. He's a villain with a noble purpose!

I WANTED to put Revan in... but couldn't justify it in my mind. Good call though!

Jade Empire - Master Li.
It's like "Sorry, I haven't been honest with you, here's my story.... I'm an amazing strategist of legend... blah blah blah. Followed shortly thereafter by "Oh yeah, like I said about not being honest... I raised you as my bitch spirit Monk... with a flaw in your style that ONLY I KNOW.

Yeah, I took a lot of pride in kicking this fuckboy in the face.

Yes, Master Li was a great villain. I loved how they threw the ultimate red herring at you too: Death's Hand. That got me good.

That game in general got me pretty good. I think I lent it to Steve before I went away to college, lol. I may have to pick it up again sometime.

I'm not sure if mine are spoilers but oh well...

1. Sephiroth: Because he has no soul... although he is a mama's boy... But fighting the last two forms was awesome! I loved 'Safer Sephiroth
EDIT: Unlike other Final Fantasy games, Sephiroth was the guy you knew you were gonna fight at the end there was no extra boss at the end that was never ever mentioned ( like 9... Evil or Very Mad

)

2. Sin from FFX: Only Ject Sin last battle because he looked awesome and those swords...

3. Organization XIII: fighting them was fun

I mostly just really like villians with big swords
