WHAAAAT!? Pfft! No!
You'd KILL them first for even considering it. Remember your platform? Or... or did you just say that line about your enemies just to get the vote? You ARE an ass-kicker, right? _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

| I support whatever health care reform would lead to me actually HAVING health care, rather than being, "Oh crap, there's something wrong with me and I can't afford to take care of it? Ok, just let me die, a funeral will be cheaper." |

Well, down here we have both and there is a clear difference. What James say is absolutely true down here, except for the weekends stuff. _________________ "just imagine a good signature, and then put it here" |

Scheduling appointments, yeah, I can see that. Emergency care? Done and done.
I'd rather schedule months ahead than not schedule that bullshit at all. I could be bleeding out my peeper and I wouldn't go to the doc cuz I can't afford that shit.
Thus, the reason my dad got diagnosed so late. _________________

I'd say that still counts as not having health care, really. Just having it in name doesn't do you any good if it doesn't actually help you when you need it.
I just don't get it sometimes, you know? On this planet there's enough wealth and extravagance for the entire world to be taken care of. So why are so many people left to live in misery and die in pain?
... this is the kind of stuff I try not to think about, because it just depresses me and there's nothing I can actually do about it. Sigh. |

You can get help when you need it.
It's the shit that CAN wait that you have to wait for. Got a broken arm? fixed. Got a click in your ankle that poses no immediate threat? get in line. _________________

Oh, I was replying to James, actually. I hadn't seen what you posted yet. I definitely agree with what you said. I heard that was what it was like in Canada, emergency care available when needed, non-essential stuff can wait, and I thought that sounded like a fairly good way to do it. Much better than not being able to afford any care, even emergency care.
Rushing into the emergency room because you're in so much pain you're crying and it feels like something burst inside, that's bad enough. You don't need thousands of dollars in debt you can't pay off from the visit on top of it; that's just adding insult to injury, in my opinion. |

[MadCat] Tell me about it. I went to the ER a few years back thanks to a heart-palpatation coupled with a severe, and I mean SEVERE panic attack.
I waited like... 2 hours.
I was given a pill to calm me down and let me rest.
That pill cost me 900 dollars.
Yeah, shame that by the time I was seen the attack had more than subsided.
[Pars] It's been taken care of. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

That's awful, Dave. *huggles*
And yeah, that's exactly the kind of crap I think shouldn't be happening. |

"Alright Mr. Buchet, we've got a little problem...I hear you're manly. Very /Manly/.....But what I would like to know....<pulls up a X-Ray> Are you man enough for this!? <points to a big, craggy dot on the film> This, is a X-ray of your body. and that little dot is a stone....and by little I mean a full inch...in diameter.... Now I /could/ give you medicine to try and kill the pain...and I /could/ try and break it up a little using sound waves....hell, I could even have you unconscious as it happens....but that would be wussing out, wouldn't it? And you aren't a Wuss. Are you?...." _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |
