Lush Ex-Private Eye Nick Charles and his lovely also generally inebriated socialite wife Nora solve mysteries, have drinks, make amusing quips at each other, have drinks, get shot at by gangsters, play with their dog Asta, make fun of other people and of course have drinks. Genuinely some of the best Detective stories to come out of the early days of Hollywood. The first film was based on the Novel by Dashiell Hammett and is unequivocally the best of the six (Oh Yeah, I should have mentioned there's six Thin Man films) but the rest are still worth watching.
The Thin Man (1934)
After the Thin Man (1936)
Another Thin Man (1939)
Shadow of the Thin Man (1941)
The Thin Man Goes Home (1944)
Song of the Thin Man (1947) _________________ Mercy is the mark of a great man.

I liked reading the book but the movies left me wanting. I think of them as more caper/hi-jinks movies than detective movies. Now, The Third Man by Carol Reed was right up my alley. I only mention it here because I used to get the two mixed up. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

Okay, Dan, you need to come down and watch some movies with me. You need to get me up to speed with "must watch" films and what not.
Paul, you need to come up to L.A. more and give me some movie edumacation. Who better than a film student to do the task? _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

The Thin Man was a detective movie, though I'll concede to your assessment on the subsequent five other films. I still enjoy the comedic capers combined with cosmopolitan consumption(I know no one actually drank cosmopolitans back then. but i need to keep up the alliteration ) _________________ Mercy is the mark of a great man.

Hmm, I'll have to go back and look at that one again. My memory of the film may be clouded by the dark si-- I mean, by my less than stellar review of the other five movies. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?
