I'm linking the Kotaku mention, but the gist is that in a interview with a Rep from NIS someone asked them about the possibility of "Disgaea" on the DS Lite, to which the Rep responded that fans can definitely look forward to it.

We would like to take this moment to mourn all those that we are soon to lose to this soul-sucking monster.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/disgaea/disgaea-heading-to-the-ds-265405.php

As always, until its playing in your system of choice, keep an open mind to the possibility that it may not happen. But word from NIS like this has been solid in the past.

Uhg... if it WAS true, you can kiss a good deal of DS owners goodbye for a few months.

FUCK THAT GAME!!! I lost 6 months to Disgaea on the PS2 and I bought the 2nd one but didn't want to lose 6 more months of my life to it, so I put it away never to be seen again.

It's just sitting there on your desk, taunting you. Daring you.

"Just open up the box, what harm can that do?"

"Just pop the disc into the PS2, just to see the intro"

"Just start a game, so you can see what it's like"

"Just one more turn"
"Just one more turn"
"Just one more..."

Yeah, just one more turn ends up being a 99 level dungeon in a fucking piece of CANDY!!! If you value whatever semblance of a social life you may have DO NOT get this game. However if you want a great turn based tactics game with hours upon hours upon...well you get the idea, pick this game up if you want it to steal your soul. Wink

It makes a good torturing device.

Just threaten to get it for people you know can easily get addicted to these kinds of games.

So basically, we have just seen 2 things.
1. This is the reason why Joel is now a soulless Zombie with no joy in his life and a distinct lack of watching good non-western/hong kong action movies.
2. Much like the "master plan" of making Dee's DS Lite disappear by getting his wife Animal Crossing DS (which I think came to pass already), the purchase of "Disgaea" would be a worthy threat to level against Paul...you know, 'cause of the "Final Fantasy Tactics" thing....

I didn't even spend as much time on tactics as Paul. Do you want to kill him Arturo? Shocked

Dudes, Tactics broke me. I wandered the land aimlessly for a couple of years just recovering from its devastating effects. I did get a couple of gnarly tattoos out of it - one on each arm - and for some reason I couldn't talk at a normal clip. Everything came out like this: "I...am...looking...for...my...brother." I think someone made a TV show out of it. It's on DVD, you should check it out. Wink

Wait a second. Someone made a TV show about tactics or someone made a TV show about you being broken by tactics? I mean, I'd watch it either way I'd just like to know. What's it called? I'll pick it up.

More on topic.
At first when I started playing Desgia I didn't see what the big deal was. It was just a fun tactical game, that is, until about episode six when I got caught up in the Item World and the assembly. It took me maybe three days of intermittent play to get to episode six. Two weeks later, after playing for hours a day, I still hadn't tried to to get to episode seven. That's when I realzed that Desgeia had stolen my soul. I stopped playing after that. I'm starting to think I should agree to Dee's philosophy on Game Sharking. Gaming should bee fun, not work.
