These past few weeks (months?) have been fairly rough on us Squishy People. Work has been put in by everyone involved to figure out the workings of Squishy, and working out a working relationship to work with Direman Press that works for everyone involved in this work. It's a lot of hard work.
We're trying to keep up the pace, and quality control is going into overtime, so if you don't notice anything, then we're doing our job. If you do notice... please ignore the man behind the curtain and instead have a look at THIS shiney golden ball. It bounces!
Thanks for sticking around and we hope that once this process is done we will be able to pour ourselves once again into the creative ends of this ordeal and bring you a Squishy Comics that truly Kicks Ass. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Hey, I just wanted to mention that I think you guys are doing a great job with Squishy Comics. It really does kick ass. The writing is awesome, the art is awesome, and I rarely ever see problems with the site, so the techies are awesome too.
You may have already done this and I just missed it or haven't found it, but have you guys ever done a "making of Squishy" sort of thing where Dan and Dave show/tell how they do what they do to make Squishy Comics? I'm really curious about the process of making a webcomic, and I'd love to see what goes on behind the scenes, if it's possible.

welcome to the squishy family madcat and to answer for them, no they haven't done a "making of." Squishy is a newly started company and has a lot to do, however catering to the fans is a top priority at Squishy Ink so do keep the suggestions rolling. Though right now with all the craziness of merging with Direman press (they make another awesome comic if you like video game humor that is title by the same name), they may not be able to respond to your demands as promptly as they would like. Thank you for joining the team and we look forward to your opinions in the forums. _________________ ~jynx~

Thank you so much! It's nice to meet you, and I'm really happy to be here!
I enjoy Squishy very much, it's a lot of fun. I hope the merge goes well!
I also read Dave the Direman, and really enjoy it as well. I was amazed by the artwork on today's strip there, #300. Dave's artwork keeps getting better and better, and as a wannabe artist myself, I'm hugely impressed by it! (I'm also very impressed with Dan's great writing talent, since I've had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to write a comic myself. >_<)
The only other suggestion I can think of so far besides the "Behind the Scenes" sort of stuff would be making a place on the site to post Fan Art. (I think I already mentioned this elsewhere in the forums, actually... sorry for the repetition)
Anyway, thank you again for the welcome, and Happy Birthday to James, Dave and Joel!

Hey, welcome aboard, Madcatmonkey.
1. You're awesome if only because you're putting up with the cruddy forum set up we have right now. Tech Monkeys Steve and James have reworked the layout of Squish Comics but are holding off on implementing it until the merger with Direman Press goes through. Direman Press has experienced delays that are beyond the control of owner Dipsosis. Soon as the issues are resolved, Squishy will complete the jump and show off it's new and improved set up.
2. Thanks for the props. Dan and I always appreciate a good pat on the ego. It sucks that when you're messing up you KNOW you're gonna hear about it, but when you're doing a good job, you're just... well... doing your job. It's nice to hear that you're appreciated now and then.
3. A "Behind the Scense" and "Fan Art" section are great ideas. As a matter of fact, we've been tossing around the idea of an "All Squishy Inside" dealie (Thank Arturo for the idea), but we need to get our act together first. As for the Fan Art, it was something that we only skirted on, but since you bring it up, maybe it's high time we gave it due consideration.
Anyway, if we're a little slow to post or respond here it's because of the previously mentioned problems, but we will get to them ASAP. In the mean time, enjoy the strips. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

1. I guess I was too busy going, "OMG I can actually TALK to the guys at Squishy!!" to be very worried about the state of the forums. Plus, growing up around people who liked working with computers, I know what a pain in the butt tech problems can be, and sometimes they just take a while to fix. (Hooray for Tech Monkeys! Go Team Go!)
2. Yes, definite props! *pat pat pat* I think you guys do an awesome job. I consistently look forward to getting a good dose of Squishy.
3. Awesome, thanks Arturo! That "All Squishy Inside" sounds like it will be really cool. I'm looking forward to seeing the revamped site when it comes out.

Hi everyone:
Just wanted to say thanks for the comic, it has a nice way for making me laugh.
I'm an awful artist so don't expect any fanart from me, I'm more as a potential tech monkey since I'm a lazy computer engineering student (yes in chile's university not harvard or something like that).
Anyway, I'm kinda curious, for what I've read, Dave uses a tablet, but what software does he use for drawing??? .
Greetings and Congrats. _________________ "just imagine a good signature, and then put it here"

Ow, ow, OW, OKAY, quit poking me! Jeez!
Welcome aboard, Yino. You are yet another brave soul that's putting up with the currently bugged forums, so thank you for your patience.
To answer your questions:
I draw Squishy Comics (and Adventures of Dave the Direman) on a Intuos3 Wacom Tablet sized 9x12.
Software wise I use an older version of Photoshop. Arturo is trying to budget us to get me a copy of the most current version of Photoshop. Something about having all the newest tools available... but I personally like the version I have now.
Anyway, welcome aboard. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Hey, there new people! I though the forums were broken for the past few months. Nobody tells me anything. Sorry I haven't been around. Hope ya'll don't think I was just being an ass and ignoring you. Lemme just say thanks for reading, thanks for the props and thanks for putting up for out buggy forums. It's always nice to hear from fans who aren't folks we knew before we started this thing. _________________ Mercy is the mark of a great man.
