I know I could just go and join the direman forums but why when I can just post right here.
So I love intelligent zombies that still eat brains...this makes more sense in fact because according to Hannibal brains are a delicacy. _________________ ~jynx~

That, and the fact that the Direman forums are locked up and frozen.
Thats a good idea though. A thread/area to discuss those strips. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |

Egotist.
But seriously, Direman has been delivering the funny (and yes, Dave, good artwork too) on a consistent basis. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

I enjoy the commentary and the video games slant.
Also, the mega-post under each new strip keeps there after I've "gotten the joke" and gives me things to consider. I'd respond in their forums, but they have none available. Yet. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |

I just rant to Dee in person when I see him, it's much more satisfying. _________________ Anyone who says money can't buy happiness doesn't have enough money. |

And out of left field comes todays strip involving (Cri)Tina and Wedge having another marital discussion. I know that Dee was recently going through the Bond movies in marathon so this may have some basis in personal experience but its good nonetheless. Short, not too expository, and with a punchline. And as a added bonus, Dave was more responsible than usual for the presentation as stated by the fact that Dee handed it off to him to read and arrange as he sees fit.
"Goldfinger" was a good movie. It had that mix of action and camp that the era's "Bond" movies were known for and then went a bit above and beyond. That so much of the fodder for the "Austin Powers" movies came from there (Dr. Evil anyone) is a definite bonus to it. If you haven't taken a look and you'd like to see what the Connery Bond was all about this is a good place to start. Especially since that Bonds Legendary manliness is the source of this particular strip's punchline, making Wedge's reaction so much more appropriate.
Also, didn't play that exact version of "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter", but I generally agree with his sentiments. He just needs to be glad that his version didn't have the same horrible character sprite pop-up like mine (the PS2 version) did. It was like playing a old "Redneck-Rampage" era shooter. You'd suddenly see someone appear at a distance and instead of smooth scaling for proximity it almost seemed like they were beeing up-ed or shrunk in magnitudes to compensate. It wasn't terrible, but the enemy AI there was hardly anything to worry about. You'd just need to watch out for the points where they threw numbers at you and you'd be fine. And seeing how all the non-X360 versions of that game only let you order a single soldier directly (you'd still get to give the other team "go-codes" and make command decisions in terms of which of two courses of action they'd take at key moments, but that was about it.
The "Emperor" may not be as forgiving as I am, but I'm also not going to gloss over what I played. It was a fun little game with some good mechanical concepts but it was obviously a hamstrung version of the Xbox game, which itself was culled down from the X360 one. I agree the strip was good. And I always love a good in your-face-'cause-it's-so-true kinda joke, which Dee is really good at.
Tre- Why did I understand that? I feel as though I should not have been able to understand that. _________________ ~jynx~

The mind creates certain "filters", some of which it uses more than others. The second "thee" popped up, a filter popped in and distilled the meaning. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |
