I thought I'd link the story in because it just seemed far too cool a thing not to. There's something very lovely about it. Its bright, simple, and kind of innocent.
Money gets paid and you watch Sonic the Hedgehog (the good, pre-Xbox 360 one) and his pal Tails take the order for a popcorn delivery. En route to bring the the delicious treat to the customer (available in salt, butter or curry (which so needs to be tried) flavors) when the nefarious (word of the day!) Dr. Robotnik strikes and tries to delay the spiky blue streak from completing his run. By placing him on a treadmill no less! That jerk!! Fear not for you can assist our hero. Taking hold of the crank on a wheel attached to the machines front you can help give him the velocity he needs to overcome the trap and bring you your food. And the crowd rejoiced.
The idea of going to a vending machine, paying a bit of money, and playing a fun little game while your food is prepared is one I find kind of neat. Imagine ordering a hot dog and selecting/applying your condiments in Tetris-like fashion. Or perhaps playing a few simple word puzzles as the coffee vending machine brewed and mixed your fine caffinated concoction. Hey, I'd actually be pretty pleased with a everyday junk food vending machine that involved a canon firing game to deliver (choose?) your snack. The extra chance of getting something you weren't trying for would just make it extra exciting:)
To get back to this game, the audio isn't bad and you get all the important sound effects like the jumps and gold rings faithfully reproduced. A few choice lines of Robotnik shouting curses of deafeat would make this extra awesome but unfortunately none are to be heard in the video provided. To be honest, if I had the cash I'd think about buying one of these for Dave...and then promptly telling him to put it in the lobby of the Squishy Office Tower. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |
