Charles Schultz.
Well I thought I would throw that in there as a random posting because I bet not many of you know that Charles Schultz was the original creator of the Love Is Comic that is found in most newspapers classified section.
I bet Dan will think different of him now.
Also I wonder if Don Henely's Boys Summer had something to do with me posting this topic. (Which I am listening to currently)

Not so sure about Dan changing his tun on this one. "Love is..." has never been a comic about laughs, from what I've seen. It was more a series of "observations about life and love. You'd maybe read it and go "Oh, yeah." or "Ahhh.". It might be cute or it might be clever but it was never really funny. Again, not the ones I've seen. Mostly it was something for girls to cut out and put into the lamination on their folders so they could contemplate their role as the little naked girl and their relationship with their boyfriend.
Maybe if we saw some examples of the Schultz-era "Love is..." we could form a more balanced opinion.
And its not that he was a total hack or anything, he gave lots of people a lot of memories, what with his poor little bald kid and the trials and tribulations of his life, the kids exceptionally smart and lovable dog, and their combined circle of friends who saw each other through all kinds of things (like holidays:) ). Hell, being known and remembered by so many people in and of itself (and not for a "bad thing") is a major accomplishment right there. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<)
