Just a heads up that on September 7th the original mini-series from College Humor is back. Originally released just under a year ago the series posted 3 episodes and then took a 8 month hiatus as they expanded their cast and production. Now back and mostly complete the SF: TLY crew has posted a trailer for the soon to be pending 4th episode, with the remaining 6 episodes to be released on a monthly basis thereafter.

For anyone not familiar with the series the premise is thus: A decade has passed since the glories and heartaches of the World Warrior tournament. Victory and riches were found, and lives and pride lost...with the fates of the combatants unknown until now.

The series starts in an arcade as two guys play "Street Fighter II" and begin a argument over which of their characters (Zangief and Dhalsim) would win in a real fight. As they talk a mohawked janitor of Russian decent cleans up in the background, listening to one of them describe how Zangief "is a little bitch", and starts to cry and run off shouting "Don't look at me!!". This gets him fired. It is at this point that we learn that his name is in fact Zangief and this is what he has been reduced to.

Through a twist of fate though, on his way home he gets a ride from a Indian taxi driver who (after a short argument) turns out to be Dhalsim and the two hatch a plot to get the fighters back together for one last tournament with each subsequent episode introducing more and more of the world warriors and showing us what happened to them and how they get back into the fight.

Its a fairly amusing series with a good touch of nostalgia/gaming fun built right into it (with the occasional 4th wall joke such as stating the importance of getting things going before Capcom sues them all). If you were a fan of the fighting game or general video game humor go ahead and give it a shot. I sort of summarized the first episode to set things up but its worth it to watch for the jokes and to figure out how they end up finding a trainer to get back into shape, which along with finding the other fighters is a big part of episodes 2 and 3.

For your convenience I shall link the initial three here:
Street Fighter: The Later Years - Episode 1

Street Fighter: The Later Years - Episode 2

Street Fighter: The Later Years - Episode 3

Especially in the gold-fish attention-span online world.

They got things up and running and made the first ones and suddenly realized how much bigger a production was required and sort of grew into it. Things /should/ run like clockwork from this point on.

I was wondering why Dhalsim had an eye patch in the preview trailer....they made mention that Bison has something to do with it, but didn't actually explain it.
