So I was looking through the forums and there are alot of threads that have been dead for a while or have never even gotten off of the ground. I was wondering what folks thought about maybe killing all the old unused threads. This will bring out post count down(don't worry Aranthos, you still get credit for getting to 1000 the first time) But it will also make the forums a tidier place. I'd like everyone to think about this and post your vote on the poll.

The poll will be up for 10 days. After that, if we choose to clean up, I'll delete all the threads which have been inactive for more than 2 months.

Also, anyone may private message me about any thread they feel should receive historical preservation despite it's inactivity and so long as the reason is well though out the thread will be preserved..

If you really want to clean em up, do an archive of old threads that haven't been posted to in X amount of months or something. It's always nice to have new members check out our old rants and it gives the site more personality. Very Happy

I have to agree with Joel. Keep the old posts. You never know what forum lurker would like to go back and see what he or she's missed.

Some dead threads can always be revived by new blood (and new insight).

I like *cluttered* forums. I can still navigate through them so they aren't THAT cluttered yet.

I already messaged Dan about this (mostly due to the fact the poll wasn't working) but I agree that we need to keep the posts for a sense of continuity/personality. If we just up and raze the whole thing it ends up barren and we lose alot. As newer people arrive they can get a feel for things and maybe find something they wish to comment, which sometimes revives threads and gets things going again.

In case you missed it, I vote(ed) Nay.
