Now in it's 5th book, the Artemis Fowl series is a good read for those that have finished the Potter books and want a different experience in the same vein. Book 1 titled "Artemis Fowl" is about the titular protagonist, a 12 year old criminal mastermind, trying to rob the faerie people of their gold.

This series rocks my face off. I love it. And I love how I always forget about it... go to a book store... and being like "oooo a new one!"
