Police in Shinjuku, Japan have been told to spot check Otaku (essentially, nerds, but someone more edumacated can correct me). One of the things that are used to spot Otaku is "People who look weak". No kidding.

Well, currently the place where I live has a similiar problem, a few urban tribes are starting to fight each other, and if some otakus are carring knifes is because something nasty is happening.

On a blah note, Here you can recognize the otakus as the ones whose bag and clothes are covered with anime buttons.

On a even more blah note, people who look weak? maybe emo kids.

Tribes as in actual tribes, or gangs? I know little about Chile and wouldn't mind some edumacation from you.

And what's the reason for the fighting?

Well, the urban tribes are not much like gangs most of them are pacific, they are people with a very very very very very specific way to be, here is a little list (Animaniacs country song is suggested as background)
-Otakus
-Pokemons
-Punks
-Vampires
-gothics
-Flaites
-brits
-hinchas
-neonazis
-rastas
-pelolais
-EMO-CORES!!!!

There are more that i can't remember right now, usually the troubles are caused by punks or neonazis, but the "disgust" between the pelolais (tipical stupid blonde girls) and the pokemons (seriously, don't ask) have caused some minor incidents.

evangelicals are in the same category than the young screaming politics in that sense. Tribes don't have a head, organization and is just a way to be, usually there is no such big ideology behind their weirdness (perhaps neonazis shouldn't be considered a tribe either)

PS: I used to live near an evangelist church, Every thursday i could hear quite loud ALELUJA MY BROTHERS!!!! it's a mixture between shudder and urge to yell "shut the fuck up" (don't do it at least you are moving very very far away next day)

It´s not that hard, you just a need few members that declare themselfs as squishians. A fotolog for showing off. Individuality is forbidden, everyone must dress equally or at least in a very similar way (non squishians cannot dress that way), I think we might face some troubles with the last one.

Yeah, most pokemons are little pseudo-emo kids so is easy to fuck them up (they might even like it)

What if we all make the effort to dress completely different... does that count?

That would really be a nice try, but alas, individuality is forbidden inside a urban tribe.
