So this is what I've gathered.

Generally because of the mixed reviews from critics and watchers it makes it hard to decide whether they should let it pass by or see it for themselves.

I liked it, but it had lost its sense of realism(not that 300 vs 2 million is realistic, but not like all 2 mil attacked at the same time) in the sense that they were fighting men not monsters and the king knew they were all going to die, but he didn't need to let the others know that. It also focuses on fewer characters than the comic not necessarily all 300 but enough to make you feel like you knew them all building on the stress of the king.

Everyone who hadn't read the book found it fun and visually stunning. I hear it quoted all day at work "blasphemy", this is madness", etc. Most of them want to see it again.

Check it out, see it for yourself. I guaranty you will not be bored
