/rant
I've been complaining lately about my inability to find a job, which is apparently rampant right now. The last employment people I talked to said there just aren't any jobs out there right now; other places say right now is just slow, and should pick up around February or March, like I can wait that long. >_<
Then the paper today is saying it's a recession all across the country, and apparently no one's having luck finding jobs. Housing prices, unemployment, health care... gah. Everything is just messed up right now, and it's all because of Money. It's depressing and frustrating and I hate it. >_<
/end rant
Edit:
Also, I apologize for my rantiness today. I guess I'm just in a weird "ranting about the world" kind of mood. Sorry. |

Also, since this is the 'rants' section, I started this thread to give people a place to rant about jobs, money, and other issues related to these things, since I didn't see a rant thread particularly for these things.
If one already existed and I just didn't see it, sorry for starting an unnecessary rant thread. |

Pfft. Thats fine. Hell, you could rant about there not already being a rant on your original rant topic, and then when it turned out there was then the person who came up with the original could rant about your making another one when theirs was already here even as you ranted about not seeing it yourself. _________________ <(@_@<), <(@_@)>, (>@_@)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_~)>, <(@_@)>, <(@_@<) |

I would rant more... but my 5 year old promise of a rant tab is still MIA... fuckers.
And yeah, ranting about not finding a job is god damn fine. It's up there with being sick, moving, and Christmas for stressful-ness. _________________

True. I went for a little over a year without being able to get a job. BURGER KING wouldn't take me. Luckily, it all worked out for the best. _________________ "Addiction can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only be changed."

Yeah I did my 2 month job search in a county that has NO jobs. Luckily when I moved home I got this one 3 days later, lol. _________________

Heh, sounds like my county, but I'm not sure where I could move that would have better prospects, since I've lived here all my life.
(Ahh, the Rogue Valley, funky little podunk place full of white trash, hicks, and old people. >_< I really wish I lived in an actual urban area. I don't relate to this place at all. Politically speaking, it's very very conservative, I'm fairly liberal. I'd much rather live up in Multnomah county, in/around Portland.) |

Seems like it's easy to leave the place you lived your whole life if ya can't survive there.
Living in the city is optimal to me, but living around it but close by works too. It's what I'd do!
Portland is sexy anyways, but I'm so going to Seattle when I move. It's like Los Angeles meets Arcata... perfection! _________________

| Seattle always sounded really nice. I'd kind of like to stay in Oregon, but Seattle would be my first out-of-state choice. Not that I can afford to move, anyway, being flat broke. |

A friend at work won't stop talking about Seattle. What's so great about it?<------------ genuinely curious _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

Nirvana and Rain.
I like the gloomy... I mean come on... England and Humboldt... it's like I seek depressing weather! It's better for my skin. _________________

| Yes, I love rainy weather. That's part of why I want to move to Portland. It's always fairly cool, and it rains 200+ days out of the year, from what I've heard. |

I love rain too, but it's not enough to make somebody move hundreds of miles away. More in-depth coverage please. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?

What I look for in a place to live:
Cool, rainy weather
A diverse population in an urban, liberal political climate (I'm a big 'gay rights' voter)
Not too much smog, not too big of a city, still some wilderness nearby
Preferably on the West Coast
Being a 'college town' is a plus, but not necessary.
Also, I applied for a job today, not one I really want, but I'm desperate. >_< I took the spelling/grammar/data entry tests and the lady said I had the highest scores she'd ever seen (though she'd only been there about a week). I got more than double the keystrokes required (597/200), and 100% on both spelling and grammar.
I think the tests are actually designed just to weed out the absolute morons, because the questions were so freakin' basic. Then again, it's sad how many people don't know the difference between their, there and they're. |
