Not sure how to take Mike's comment. I'm gonna elaborate on my own.
Political and Religious differences screwed up my previous relationship. Not the same as your (Kara) take on the current elections, but I can see how that can sour you.
Beyond that, yeah. I like my politics not to include religion. I mean, wasn't that one of the reasons the first Europeans came over here, to avoid religious persecution? Actually, we seem to think about Separation of Church and State a lot, mostly because the Church won't get its nose out of State business.
Some of the laws on the books right now that are discriminatory and cruel are there because "it's what god wants" according to some people's definition of god.
Sorry, I'm being bitter, and I don't mean to start up another religious discussion. That's just a sore spot for me. |
