It hasn't happened in ages, but the last time it did, I dropped said "friends" like a bad habbit.
What I would do today depends on the situation, much like it did back then. In that instance it was blatant, unashamed theft, which told me that the thief thoughtnothing of me, and therefore was no friend of mine.
