We have to remember that those of us here are intelligent people. Not everyone in this country is. In fact most arent. And right now the stupid are out weighing the intelligent and so we get, well, Bush as president for one thing. Grant I encouraged my mom to vote for him the second time, it was out of hope that he would end what he started. I didnt feel a new guy would help matters at the point we were before. But now I believe the time is right for another Teddy Roosevelt, or Harry S Truman. We need a President with balls to do whats right and not whats economically advantageous. That is not to say that economics should be thrown out the window but there has got to be another way.
As for that stuff about Them regulating the internet I will be the first person on the lawn at the white house if that gets passed. That is just monopolizing a well managed system....well a managed system anyway. It would break our constitutional right to freedom, and I cant stand for that. Journalists have the newspapers and the rest of the country have the internet. You take that away and your going to have a major issue with a lot of people.
On to the "FED-EX"ing of soldiers comment. I find that unbelievable. I can't fathom that the government would allow that to happen. I mean the negative publicity alone should deter that sort of thing. A shame...it's a real shame. _________________ ~jynx~

There are measures you can take right now to stop such legislation from passing in the first place. Check out those website links in my previous post, if you haven't already. I participated on Savetheinternet.com we, the people, won the first round: the first bill got shot down, just barely. You can bet your monkey's uncle that those telecoms will not give up the fight and there will most definitely a round two. And, man, those guys fight dirty. They used their media contacts to spread disinformation among the masses and it caused a bit of confusion for a while. Concerned citizens were calling their representatives in congress and telling them to shoot down Net Neutrality when, in fact, they were intending the very opposite. We have to keep up the pressure. Why us? You said it: because we're smart. And somebody has to. _________________ Conan! What is best in life?
