as much as i'm not into Frank Miller's "i write comics that are so much cooler than anyone else's" writings, i LOVED 300 and i hope that they stay true to the story.

when i heard about it some years ago it was out of print so i had to hunt down a copy and pay an amount i'm embarrassed to mention. i read it twice a day for a couple of days and couldn't get bored of it.

its back in print so i recommend you visit your local comic or book store and give it a read before the movie comes out.

can't wait to see those elephants slip on blood and bodies off a cliff, so sweet... [/i]

Dude, they gave away my favorite line from the books:

Persian - "Our arrows will blot out the sun!"

Spartan - "Then we'll have to fight in the shade."

I'm going to see it (Kang says I have to see them 'cause I'm "comic book guy") but with one caveat: I HATE movies that rely too heavily on CGI.

Well its a comic book movie, so i don't mind the CGI at all.

That was one of my favorite lines too.

Yeah, it's about killing people. Specifically, it's about 300 bad-ass Spartans and 700 Thespian (no, not actors) volunteers taking on the Persian army.

The movie (based on a comic) will no doubt be very cinematic, but this event did occur.

To put it simply, if you need some ass kicked on a epic scale or you just need to make something sound cooler, two of the words you go to first are: Spartan. Valkyrie. Others are Ninja, Mario, and Pirate, but lets not get into what order because thats just going to go on for years...

--------------------------------------------------------------------
On a completely unrelated note, there are 3 ninja hiding in the space bewteen the two lines, can you spot them? Question

It has to be Pirate, Ninja, Mario.

And I couldn't spot the 3 ninjas because they had already been dragged away, beaten and pillaged by a horde of pirates. Arrrrgh!

LOL! That was hilarious! Hey, what kind of movies do Pirates like? The ones that are rated ARRR! Very Happy

For the record:

Ninjas rule! Pirates are cool but, as a rule, they don't rule.

Pirates are cooler! ou know why? Cause they always get the really hot chick, or in Pirates of the Carribean's case Keira Knightly... But anyway: How many times have you heard of some cool ass kicking Ninja getting a hot chick in the end!

Also I don't think Ninjas drink... Correct me if I'm wrong...

Dude, you obviously haven't read Eric Von Lustbader's acclaimed Ninja series! Most western moviegoers still have Asian = Monk running through their collective minds, but if you watch some Japanese movies on the subject you'll find sex, violence, sake, violence, and more violence. Check out the Shinobi no Mono series.

IIRC, in pirates Jack don't get none... These are Disney flicks... sooo sad.

How do you know that ninjas don't get none... They just are just sneaky and camera shy. Mr. Green
